MISSION STATEMENT |
|
The mission of Sussex County Educational Services Commission (SCESC) is to provide services and programs of the highest caliber for students/clients and their families, as well as for schools, school districts, and the community at large. SCESC’s services and programs focus on maximizing individual potential, enhancing the quality of life, and promoting lifelong learning and application of skills. Through on-going assessment of community needs and through self-evaluation, the SCESC continually strives to discover new potentials for growth and success. |

SCESC: Who We Are |
|
The SCESC is a nonprofit agency, which was established in 1979 pursuant the rules and regulations of the State Board of Education and provisions of NJSA 18A: 6.51-70. It is governed by representatives of its 22 member public school districts. A 15 member Board of Directors is elected from this representative assembly. Members of the SCESC Board of Directors and the SCESC Representative Assembly are board of education members or superintendents of the member districts. Cooperative contracting allows boards of educations to provide an array of services.

SCESC: Services We Provide |
|
· Special Children’s School- A public receiving school that provides special education (including extended year programs) for students ranging in age from 3 to 21 . · Services for Nonpublic Schools Students– An array of state and federally funded educational programs are provided through contracts with other public school districts. · Nursing Services for Nonpublic School Students- Through state funded contracts we provide nursing services to nonpublic schools. · Public School Services- Contractual services to other public school districts including: child study teams, substitute teacher calling, general education and special education teachers, speech, occupational, and physical therapists. · Substitute Teacher Calling- This service is provided to public school districts by a SCESC employee. · |
